Bocci unveils latest lighting collections at VDF products fair

Clusters of sculptural glass pendants adorn the Armature chandelier, which is one three lighting collections Bocci has launched at the VDF products fair today.

The other collections unveiled by the Canadian design and manufacturing company are named Table Lamp and Stem Series, which are also decorated with blown-glass shades drawn from Bocci's collections of pendant lights.

All three collections are now live at the VDF products fair, which has been launched as an affordable way for designers and brands to launch new products.

One of the products, named Armature, is a contemporary and customisable chandelier. It is composed of modular matte-black branches that can be connected in various arrangements and decorated with one of three different styles of glass pendants.

Stem Series has also been unveiled at the products fair

The smallest product launched by Bocci at the fair is the Table Lamp, which marries a single sculpted glass shade with a smooth brass base. It can also be wall-mounted.

Bocci's final collection launched at the products fair is the Stem Series, which comprises three different styles of lighting including ceiling fixtures and floor lamps. They are all enveloped by clusters of pendants and available in different sizes in either a black or brass finish.

Other companies who have unveiled new designs at the VDF products fair include Ukranian design studio Faina and New York-based wallpaper design company Superflower.

Fritz Hansen has also reissued its stacking Vico Duo chair to celebrate 100 years since the birth of its designer Vico Magistretti.

Armature lighting by Bocci

VDF products fair: Armature is a contemporary chandelier by Canadian design company Bocci that comprises matte black branches and blown-glass shades.

The Armature chandelier's black arms are modular, designed by Bocci to be easily connected and arranged in several different configurations.

Each fixture can also be differentiated by its sculptural glass shade, which contains the LED bulbs. These are available in three different styles, named 16, 28 or 38V, after the Bocci pendant lights they are drawn from.

The 28 Armature pendants, photographed above, are distorted spheres made from blown glass and incorporate diffusers made from milk glass. They are available in 90 different colours.

38V Armature pendants are also spherical and made from blown glass, but they are smaller in size and punctured by "haphazard interior cavities" that can be filled with air plants.

In contrast, the 16 Armature pendants are flat, composed of horizontal layers of glass. These are available in four colours.

Stem Series by Bocci

VDF products fair: Customisable floor lamps and ceiling lights make up the Stem Series lighting collection by Canadian design company Bocci.

The Stem Series lights are available in three styles, which are each distinguished by black or brass poles adorned with clusters of Bocci's sculptural glass shades from its collections of pendant lights.

Suspended Stem is the collection's ceiling light, which is available in several different lengths and can be fitted with a varying number of glass pendants.

The floor fixtures, named Floor Stem, are mounted on brass bases and can be finished with a choice of three glass shade configurations. They have rigid power cords made from black fabric.

Similarly, the Column Stem floor lights have a brass base and fabric power cords, but they are taller in height to evoke pillars that extend from floor to ceiling.

Column Stem is available in several different sizes with two different pendant arrangements and can also be installed vertically or at an angle using discreet wall and ceiling fastenings.

Each fixture features an integrated dimming system. The available glass pendants for the series are named 28, 57, 73, 84 and 38v.

Table Lamp by Bocci

VDF products fair: Canadian design company Bocci has launched a range of table lamps with sculptural glass shades.

Named Table Lamp, the collection features lights with cylindrical brass bases that are attached to black fabric power cords and circular dimmer switches.

Users can customise the lamp by choosing one of five sculptural, glass shades – which are drawn from Bocci's collections of pendant lights – and by sculpting the rigid fabric cord to form different shapes.

Each Table Lamp light is also designed for use as a wall light, and features a hidden notch on its base that allows it to be mounted to a wall.

The five available shades for the series are named 28, 57, 73, 84 and 38v, after the pendant lights they are based on.
