Dezeen Showroom: international furniture brand Elan Atelier has designed the Khetan bench and console table to look like "functional sculptures".
The Khetan range is cast in bronze from a single mould, giving the pieces a fluid, continuous silhouette. Like all of Elan Atelier's bronze work, they are cast using the lost-wax technique.
The brand describes the Khetan range as "elegant functional sculptures", distinguished by their gleaming gold or silver undersides and a dark, matt exterior.
Its finish varies from a rich, warm brown called Antique Bronze to a near-black Dark Bronze version, which Elan Atelier says creates a "very dramatic contrast".
The same shape that is applied to the console and bench can also be rendered in other custom sizes, meaning it could equally serve as a coffee table.
Elan Atelier was founded in 2014 by Alison Legge and Christopher Noto and has worked with commercial clients including Aman Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels and GHM Hotels and Resorts.
"At Elan Atelier, sublime products are handcrafted with artistry for a modern world," said the brand. "Elan Atelier is driven by a deep appreciation of traditional methods, noble materials and modern innovation."
