A hotel in Japan features in today's Dezeen Weekly newsletter

Sou Fujimoto adds giant atrium and green hill to Shiroiya Hotel

The latest edition of our Dezeen Weekly newsletter includes a hotel in Japan designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects.

The Shiroiya Hotel is located in Maebashi, Japan, and sits on the site of a former inn that hosted guests for over 300 years.

Sou Fujimoto Architects removed the original building's internal floors and added a grassy hill containing cabins.

Readers think the result is whimsical, with one calling the hotel a "fairytale with style".
